Food for Thought

Have you ever wondered how the food service workers make our wonderful and delicious food? The lunch ladies are always trying their hardest to make wonderful food for all of us. The amazing part is that there’s 864 kids in our entire school, and they make sure every student has a meal if they need one!! They also only have a few hours to make the food. They have to prepare breakfast in the morning, and lunch right after. In addition, they arrive at school at 5:30 am! Each school has its own cafeteria manager, who has to get there even earlier. Ana Lopez is the cafeteria manager at EES. Some of the food service workers have children who attend EES, and so their children have to wake up early to get here also. Luis, an editor of this article, is one of those kids!

Now you know the truth about the lunch ladies and all that they do for our school. So…next time you see them, be sure to say, “Thank you!!”
