Planting A New Season

Do you like gardening? Then you’re in luck! When the fall season came, us Wildcats had to some big changes to make in our garden. There were weeds everywhere!

Before starting our work, we had to schedule a day that volunteers could come to help. Our Garden Day was October 19th, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. Parents were notified by our school flyers, calls home, and announcements on Facebook and Twitter. We knew it was going to be a wonderful day!

Finally, the day arrived. An estimate of sixty people came to our community garden day! Wow! That’s a lot of people. Teachers who were a part of the EES Garden Committee brought breakfast like donuts, bananas, and other yummy food. An EES third grader, Avery, attended Garden Day. She said, “It was really nice to work in the garden. Everyone was busy planting new plants!” Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, staff, and students, the garden no longer has weeds, and is full of beautiful, growing plants!
